Grade 6 did presentations about climate change and understanding the human impact and presence ecosystems. I listened to quite a few. They were earnest, and caring and willing to makea difference. They talked about using less, walking more, recycling, and yes, not using plastic straws. In listening to them and asking if they had learned anything that surprised them, I heard a subtext. beneath the oft repeated refrains was a dedication to be more mindful and an understanding that if I have more, someone else likely has less.
